In a world full of broken promises and fading dreams, supernatural hope is a rare and powerful force. It is not human optimism or positive thinking — it is a divine expectation placed in the heart by God Himself. This kind of hope sees beyond the natural. It dares to believe when there’s no earthly reason to.
The life of Abraham, the father of faith, is one of the clearest pictures of this kind of hope. His story shows us that faith cannot exist without supernatural hope — and every believer must learn to live by it daily.
Abraham: Believing Beyond Reason
When God called Abraham, He gave him a promise that defied everything natural:
"And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing."
(Genesis 12:2, KJV)
But Abraham and Sarah were old and childless — well past the age of bearing children. From a human standpoint, the promise was laughable.
Yet Scripture says:
"Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations..."
(Romans 4:18, KJV)
That was supernatural hope — the kind that rises from God's Word, not human reason.
Isaac: The Fulfillment of Supernatural Expectation
Years passed before the promise was fulfilled, but Abraham never let go of what God said. When Isaac was finally born, it wasn’t just a personal miracle — it was the beginning of Israel, the great nation birthed by supernatural hope and sustained by divine covenant.
Hope and Faith: Two Sides of the Same Coin
Hebrews 11:1 tells us:
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
- Hope gives us vision from heaven.
- Faith gives it form on earth.
When hope is supernatural, faith has something eternal to grab hold of. But when there is no hope — no divine expectation — faith has no foundation to build upon.
In Abraham’s story:
- Hope believed what was impossible.
- Faith obeyed as if it was already done.
- The result? Manifestation.
Why Believers Need Supernatural Hope Every Day
Without supernatural hope, faith will shrink back.
Without hope, our prayers become empty words.
Without hope, discouragement takes over.
The Apostle Paul writes:
"For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."
(Romans 8:24-25, KJV)
Supernatural hope is essential because:
- It’s rooted in the unchanging Word of God
- It’s empowered by the Holy Spirit
- It anchors us when life gets rough (Hebrews 6:19)
How to Stir Up Supernatural Hope
- Feed on the Word of God
God’s Word is your hope supply. Meditate on His promises until they ignite faith in your heart. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
(Romans 10:17, KJV) - Remember God's Past Faithfulness
Hope grows when we remember what God has already done. Testimonies are seeds of future breakthroughs. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."
(Psalm 103:2, KJV) - Guard Your Confession
Speak what God says, not what you see. Life and death are in your tongue "Death and life are in the power of the tongue."
(Proverbs 18:21, KJV) - Fellowship With Other Believers
Community matters. You need voices around you who stir your spirit, not drain your hope. "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
(Proverbs 27:17, KJV) - Pray With Expectation
Don’t pray to survive — pray believing God will do what He promised. "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
(Mark 11:24, KJV)
Live by Supernatural Hope
Abraham didn’t walk by sight. He didn’t cling to human logic. He clung to supernatural hope, and that hope produced living, active, mountain-moving faith.
Today, you are called to the same path.
Let your hope come from God's voice, not your circumstances.
Let your faith be anchored in the eternal, not the temporary.
Let your expectation be supernatural — because the God who promised is supernatural, and so is the future He has prepared for you.
"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is."
(Jeremiah 17:7, KJV)
Never stop hoping. Never stop believing. Never stop expecting.
God is faithful. Your hope shall not be ashamed.
Closing Prayer
"Heavenly Father, thank You for the living hope You have given us through Your Word and through Jesus Christ. Teach us to wait patiently like Abraham, to believe even when circumstances seem impossible, and to hold fast to our hope daily. Strengthen our faith through Your promises and help us walk with confidence, knowing that You are faithful who has promised. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
